All the flavors of a classic burger in a nourishing, Whole30-compliant bowl. These burger bowls are loaded with seasoned beef, crispy bacon, roasted sweet potatoes, and a creamy special sauce — perfect for easy weeknight dinners or meal prep.
Burger Mixture
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 Tbsp coconut aminos
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp oregano
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
For the Bowls
- 1 sweet potato, peeled cut into 1/2 inch cubes
- 4+ strips bacon, (sugar-free for Whole30)
- 2 cups romaine or iceberg lettuce, shredded
- coleslaw (optional), see my recipe for MJ's famous coleslaw
- ½ red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 avocado, sliced or cubed
- pickles, sliced
For the Special Sauce
- ⅓ cup Whole30 compliant mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp Whole30 compliant ketchup,
- 1 Tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 Tbsp dill relish or dill pickles, finely chopped
- 2 Tbsp yellow onion, finely minced
- 1 Tbsp coconut aminos
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp salt
Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the strips of bacon until crisp. Remove and set aside on paper towel-lined plate. Crumble once cooled.
Bacon Shortcut: pre-cooked oven bacon works well for quick weeknight assembly.
Cook the Burger Mixture
Lower the heat to medium and cook the ground beef, breaking it up as it browns. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, coconut aminos, salt, and pepper.
Assemble the Bowls
Assemble bowls with shredded lettuce, burger mixture, sweet potatoes, coleslaw (if using), crumbled bacon, pickles, and any additional burger toppings you enjoy.
Drizzle with special sauce and serve!
